Transit Bipartition Surgery

Transit bipartition is surgery for diabetes. In Transit Bipartition surgery, first, a sleeve gastrectomy is performed. The small intestine is then divided into two, forming a point 80-200 cm proximal to its junction with the large intestine.

Transit bipartition surgery’s healing rate in Type 2 diabetes is higher than that of all other bariatric procedures.

The upper end is connected to a point 80 to 150 cm proximal to the joint of the small intestine with the large one. By this means, approximately ⅓ of foods taken orally pass through the duodenal, whereas ⅔ pass through the last part of the small intestines.

It has many advantages including a healing rate. Transit bipartition surgery’s healing rate in Type 2 diabetes is higher than that of all other bariatric procedures. Its leakage rate is lower than other procedures.
